One of the greatest challenges entrepreneurs face is access to capital. In order to poise innovative companies for growth and success in our region, BioKansas is funding travel awards for local entrepreneurs to attend events around the country. As every company’s needs are unique, these travel awards provide support for entrepreneurs to attend the events most relevant to their particular field and stage in their company’s lifecycle.
BioKansas student sponsorships provide students with access to unique training opportunities of their choice while simultaneously promoting companies and career opportunities in our region. We provide career expos, as well as other professional development events, hosted at regional institutions to deliver content that educates and trains students on in-demand skill sets relevant to local employment opportunities. These interactions are framed through the lens of helping students establish and navigate career paths in the region
Entrepreneur Travel Awards Sponsor
Support a local entrepreneur’s travel to a pitch rally or other funding-related event.
Help students reach their goals by providing an award in your company’s name. Awards will be given for professional development training opportunities or poster presentations at the annual K-INBRE symposium or Capital Graduate Research Summit.
The K-INBRE symposium is a professional research meeting with the goal of providing an opportunity for Kansas scientists to present their original research in both poster and oral format. Over 300 students present side-by-side with working scientists providing opportunities for networking and future collaboration. The symposium provides an authentic experience to students who may not have had an opportunity to attend a major conference. BioKansas gives out awards to students at the conference for excellence in research.
More About Capital Graduate Research Summit
The CGRS is an annual showcase of research conducted by graduate students from Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University, University of Kansas, the University of Kansas Medical Center, and Wichita State University. Around 50 participants share their research posters at the capital with state legislators and members of the Kansas Board of Regents. BioKansas awards scholarships to top presenters from each university.
