Pitch Competition FAQ

1. WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS?

Companies may only submit one product or service.
The submitted product must have been conceived no earlier than January, 2021.
Companies must not have raised more than $10 million in funding from combined funding sources.

2. HOW WILL I KNOW IF I'M SELECTED?

All applicants will be notified whether they were accepted or not by July 31.

Once you’ve been notified that your company has been accepted, you will need to register within 48 hours.

3. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION?

All accepted startups will receive:

1) FREE registration

2) 1 complimentary exhibitor table

3) 1 complimentary ticket to the Awards Dinner

Additional exhibitor tables and dinner tickets available with purchase.

4. WHAT ARE THE JUDGING CRITERIA?

The Pitch Competition will be judged on the following criteria:

Creativity: how original or unique is your idea?
Opportunity: the longevity, actualization, and profitability of the idea
Impact: how does the product or service improve the world?
Traction: sales, users, marketing exposure, etc.
People: how will leadership, employees, advisors, etc. help the startup succeed?

5. WHAT WILL THE WINNER(S) RECEIVE?

Pitch Competition winner(s) will receive recognition during the Innovation Festival Awards Dinner, a cash prize, and a free year of membership to BioKansas, which includes purchasing discounts, access to networking opportunities, inclusion in our weekly newsletters, and more.
