This session takes participants through steps of how a biological discovery moves into the marketplace. Learn about different job roles , typical experience needed, and relevant opportunities in the area.
Learn how to distinguish a resume from a Curriculum vitae, frame experience for non-academic roles, and curate the content of your resume for a specific role.
Participants will discuss what it takes for a bioscience community to really thrive, learn about critical assets and investments that make up the Kansas bioscience ecosystem, and begin making plans for their own careers in the bioscience industry.
For this workshop, participants complete an individual development plan prior to attending. In the workshop, participants clarify and identify professional goals based on their skills, values, and interests. They learn strategies for goal setting as well as identify systems for tracking progress towards those goals.
This session familiarizes participants with data on communication skills various organizations seek and assists them in understanding the specific values of effective communication skills in the workplace.
